     Nanna's Swiss Steak

Ingredients
1 Med. Onion Sliced
3 TAB. shortening
3 TAB. chopped green pepper
1 1/2 lbs. beef (round, chuck, rump)
Flour
salt and pepper
1 can Hunts tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp. Worshtershire auce
1 cup water
 

Instructions
In a heavy skillet (Nanna used cast iron) cook onion and green pepper in shortening until tender. Pound flour into the beef, salt and pepper. Brown the meat on both sides in the shortening. Then add- 1 can Hunts Tomato Sauce 1 1/2 tsp. Worshetershire Sauce 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 cup water Cover and Simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until tender.
