     Italian Easter bread. No Yeast

2 1/4 C flour
1 tbl baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 C butter softened
1/2 C sugar
1 large egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 C milk
1 large egg beaten with splash of water
3 dyed eggs
multicolor sprinkles

Preheat oven to 375. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper , set aside In a bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. set aside. In a bowl cream together the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Reduce speed to low and add in the flour mixture and milk until combined.
Pour mixture out on to floured surface and press together into a disk shape. Divide the dough into three equal parts. Roll the dough pieces in to about 8 inch logs and form into donut shape. Place on baking sheet....Brush breads with beaten egg. Place egg into the center of bread. Bake 25 min. Mix confectioners sugar and water to make icing. Top bread with icing and sprinkles
