In a heavy bottom 2-quart saucepan, add the olive oil and over
medium high heat, heat a little. Add the onions and sauté until
slightly translucent. Add the garlic and sauté a minute until golden.
Quickly add the tomatoes, crushing by hand and adding the juice.
Season with salt, pepper, and sugar as well as the fresh basil and
oregano.
Simmer on a low flame, stirring often, for 15 minutes. Store in an
airtight container
