     Dairy free milk

Ingredients
1.5 cups blanched almonds, about 7 ounces
1/2 cup brown rice
1.5 cups oats
 
optional- 2 tsp cinnamon or dates or maple syrup

Instructions
Almond milk- soak almonds 6 hours in bowl or water. Drain the nuts and add them to a blender with 4 cups fresh water. Blend it all for a minute or 2 until smooth milk forms. Use less water for thicker milk.
Rice milk- Put rice in a saucepan with 2 cups water. Bring to boil and let bubble for 5 mintues, then simmer for about 45 minutes, covered, until the rice is soft, but not soggy, and all the water has been absorbed. Stir while cooking, add water if needed. Blend the cooled rice with 4 cups water. Strain to remove any grit.
Oat milk- Soak the oats in cold water for about 30 minutes. Rinse and drain before placing them into a blender with 4 cups fresh water. Blend for 30 seconds until smooth. Pour through sieve. If using sweetener add and reblend.
