     Lemon Cake--best ever--moist

1 1/2 flour
1 1/2 t baking powder
1 T lemon zest
1/2 t salt
1/2 c unsalted butter room temp
1 c sugar
2 large eggs, room temp
1 tsp vanilla
2 T lemon juice fresh
1/2 c buttermilk
1/4 c lemon juice
2 T powdered sugar
1 c powdered sugar
1.5 T lemon juice
1 T milk

350 9 x 5 loaf pan or 8 x4 grease and parchment. Cream butter and sugar 4-6 min until pale and fluffy. Important. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla and lemon juice beat til combined. Add 1/3 flour mixture , 1/2 buttermilk mix...etc. til blended. Bake 45-55 min.
Cool 15 min. brush lemon syrup on cake when still warm. Cool completely and frost. Frosting should be thick and not runny. Keeps several days.......really yummy.
