1 lb. ground beef or 1/2 lb beef & 1/2 lb ground Italian sausage
1 cup finely chopped onion
4-6 garlic cloves minced
1 tsp each salt & pepper
1/2 -3/4 cup cooked rice or minute rice (uncooked)
1 - 2 15oz can tomato sauce (1/2 cup is mixed in the meat)
1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese ( 1 cup is for topping)
Instructions
Trim tops off bell peppers, remove ribs and seeds.
In a bowl put the beef, onions, garlic, salt,
pepper Worcestershire sauce, rice, 1 cup of cheese
and 1/2 cup of tomato sauce. Mix together and
place in peppers.
Put peppers in a slow cooker, pour the remainder
of the can of tomato sauce over the peppers. You
can add more if desired and it makes a nice sauce
to add when eating.
Cover and cook on high for 3 or low for 6 hours or until
peppers are soft.
Top peppers with remaining 1 cup cheese, cover and
cook 3-6 min. longer until cheese is melted.
