Sift flour, salt, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and baking
soda. Cream shortening with sugar, Blend in egg and
molasses; then stir in flour mixture.
Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls. Roll in sugar, place 3
inches apart. Flatten slightly and sprinkle with
more sugar.
Bake 350 for 8-10 minutes.
