     Breakfast Sausage Substitute

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef or pork
1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp dried sage (or 1/2 tsp dried oregano and dried thyme)
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/8 tsp dried marjoram, optional
 

Instructions
Stir the brown sugar, sage, salt, basil, black pepper, onion powder, marjoram, and red pepper flakes together in a small bowl. Place the ground beef or pork in a large bowl; mix the spice blend into the meat with your hands until evenly integrated. Refrigerate up to 24 hours to let the flavors blend.
