     Strawberry cake filling

Ingredients
1 (16 oz) sliced frozen, with sugar, STRAWBERRIES
1/3 cup granulated sugar
3 TBS cornstarch
l tsp lemon juice (can substitute lime juice or wine)
 

Instructions
Drain berries (SAVE JUICE). Add enough water to juice to equal 1 1/4 cups. Mix sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and liquid. Bring to a boil and cook until it thickens. Cool completely, refrigerate until ready to use. Raspberries or pineapple may be substituted.
