Season the chicken. Melt 1 Tbsp butter in a skillet. Sear chicken on both sides until golden brown. Remove from pan.
Add remaining butter to pan and melt. Add the mushrooms and dried basil until cooked down. If Add water and mustard to the pan,stir to deglaze. Add chicken (skin side up if using thighs) back to the pan. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes until chicken is cooked through.
