     Strawberries for shortcake

Ingredients
One quart strawberries - makes 3 Cups sliced
1/4 Cup sugar
 
Instructions
Pour sugar over strawberries about an hour before using. It will make its own syrup.
It will reduce from 3 to 2 Cups of strawberries. Use 1/3 Cup per shortcake. So one quart of strawberries will make 6 shortcakes.
