Penne or macaroni pasta, cooked according to package directions
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1.5 pounds ground sirloin, browned
1 medium onion, chopped and sauteed
2 garlic cloves, minced
15 ounce can of tomato sauce
0.5 teaspoon salt
0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese, divided
0.5 cup butter, cubed
2/3 cup all purpose flour
0.5 teaspoon salt
0.25 teaspoon pepper
4 cups milk
2 large eggs, beaten
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350. Mix butter and cooked pasta.
Transfer to a greased 9x13 casserole dish.
Mix beef, onions, and garlic, heat for a few
minutes.Stir in tomato sauce, salt, and cinnamon.
Spoon over pasta. Sprinkle with 0.5 cup shredded
Parmesan cheese.
In a large saucepan, melt butter. Stir in flour,
salt, and pepper until smooth. Gradually add milk.
Bring to a boil, cook and stir until thickened,
about 1-2 minutes. Pour a small amount of hot
liquid into a bowl with the eggs, return to the
pot, whisking constantly. Bring to a boil, cook for
two minutes stirring constantly. Pour over the beef
mixture. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake, covered, for 20 minutes. Bake, uncovered, 30-
40 minutes longer or until golden brown.
