     Perfect Corn Bread

Ingredients
1 cup sifted all purpose flour
1/8 cup sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 cup cornmeal
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/4 cup soft shortening
 

Instructions
Sift together the first four ingredients and then stir in the cornmeal. Add eggs, mil and shortening. Beat with a beater until mixture is just about smooth, approximately one minute. Be careful not to overbeat.
Pour into greased 9x9x2 inch pan. bake at 425 degrees for twenty to twenty five minutes.
