     Microwave Caramel Popcorn

Ingredients
4 Quarts popped popcorn
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Brown paper bag
 

Instructions
1. Pop the popcorn and sift out the Old Maids. Place popcorn in paper bag, set aside.
2. In a large glass bowl ( I use a 4 cup measuring bowl) combine the brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, salt and vanilla. Heat for 3 minutes in microwave. Take out and stir until well blended. Return to microwave and cook for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove and stir in baking soda.
3. Pour syrup mixture over the popcorn in the bag. Stir to cover popcorn. Roll down top of bag 2 or 3 times to close bag. Place bag in microwave and cook for 1 minute and 10 seconds. Remove and shake bag well, flip the bag over and cook for another 1 minute 10 seconds. Dump out onto wax paper to cool. Store in airtight container or ziploc bags.
