1 cup yellow corn meal
1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp baking powder
1/4 cup sugar (optional)
1 cup milk
1 beaten egg
1/4 vegitable oil

Combine dry ingredients in large bowl. Make a well in center of dry ingredients and pour in milk and beaten egg. Stir well. Now add vegetable oil and combine throughly.
Pour into greased 9 x 9 inch square baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees F for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with butter and honey if desired.
