     Green Beans w/ Toasted Almonds

Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds of fresh grean beans, trimmed
1 tbsp (1 turn around the pan) extra-virgin olive oil
1 tbsp butter
salt
toast slivered or slice almonds, for garnish
 

Instructions
Cook green beans 5 minutes in 1 inch boiling water, covered. Drain beans & return pan to heat.
Add oil & butter pat to the pan. Toss beans in oil & melted butter. Season beans with a little salt & transfer to a serving plate. Garnish green beans with toasted almonds
TO TOAST ALMONDS IN OVEN: Preheat oven to 350. Spread nuts in one layer on ungreased shallow baking pan. Bake 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden. MICROWAVE: Place 1/2 cup almonds & 1 tbsp butter in a 9 inch microwave-proof pie plate. On high, stirring every minute until brown, 4-5 minutes. SAUCEPAN: Place almonds in a heavy, ungreased skillet. Stir often over medium heat until golden brown.
