Prepare chocolate cake mix according to package directions for cupcakes.

In a separate bowl cream togeether cream cheese and sugar; beat in egg, mixing well. Stir in chocolate chips.

|
Line muffin pans with cupcake papers. Fill 2/3 full with chocolate cake batter. Add 2 heaping teaspoon cream cheese mixture to center.

|
|
Bake according to directions for cupcakes. (Typically Bake 350 degrees for 17 minutes.) Cool and frost with chocolate or cream cheese frosting. Makes 24 cupcakes.
