Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine
2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
4 tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
 

Instructions
Preheat oven 400 degrees
n mixing bowl beat butter on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add about half of the flour, and 1 cup of sugar, the eggs, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Beat till thoroughly combined. Beat in the remaining flour. cover and chill for 1 hour.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Combine the 2 tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or till edges are golden. Cool cookies on a wire rack.
