     Rindergulasch ( German beef stew)

Servings   4 - half recipe

Ingredients
1 + 1/2 tbsp. butter
1 onion, chopped
1 clove of garlic, minced finely
1/2 lb. beef, cubed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp. flour
 
1/2 cup beef stock
1 tomato, diced

Instructions
1. put butter in large skillet over medium-high heat 2. add onion and garlic. cook until soft.
3. add meat, salt, pepper, and paprika. cook until meat is browned. 4. stir in water and cover. reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
5. when juice has evaporated, sprinkle with flour. stir until bubbly 6. add beef stock and tomatoes. cook together for 10 minutes.
7. add more salt and pepper to taste. 8. serve hot
Serving Suggestions
serve over speatzel (german noodle) or some kind of noodle if desired.
