     Cheddar Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients
2 cups Flour
2 tsp. Sugar
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/2 cup Butter
1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Cream of Tartar
2/3 cup Milk
1/2 cup shredded Cheese
 

Instructions
Stir together Flour, Baking Powder, Sugar, Cream of Tartar and salt. Cut in Butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Make a well in the center and add Milk and Cheese. Stir until mixture just clings together.
Knead gently on a floured surface. Fold in layers. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness and cut out biscuits.
Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes. *Buttermilk Biscuits: add 1/4 tsp of Baking Soda and 3/4 cup of Buttermilk instead of regular milk.
