Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients
-
2lbs round steak-put in the freezer for 1 hour so it is easy to cut into thin pieces
-
or substitute 4 chicken breasts for beef
-
1 can mushrooms, 1 pkg. onion soup mix
-
1/2 cup water
-
2Tb. flour
-
2 cups sour cream
 

Instructions
Slice meat into bit size pieces (thin like paper) and fry in butter until brown. Add water, mushrooms with juice and onion mix. Add flour. Add sour cream the last minute. Serve with rice or noddles.
Amber's Crockpot version for chicken- Put chicken and all ingredients except flour and sour cream into crockpot and heat for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. Once chicken is cooked, take it out of crockpot and slice it into thin strips and return to crock pot. Just before serving mix together sour cream and flour and add to crockpot. Serve with rice or egg noodles and garnish with parmesan cheese and parsley.
Serving Suggestions
Steamed broccoli or applesauce and rolls
