Beat egg whites until very stiff; add sugar and vanilla gradually. Add salt; fold in nuts. Drop y teaspoon onto lined cookie sheet. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put cookie in oven; turn off oven. Leave cookies in turned off oven for 1 hour.
