     Peach Cake

Ingredients
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. milk
1 egg
5 peaches (or plums)
For topping-
 
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
3 tbsp sugar
1/3 c. currant jelly
1 tbsp hot water
3 tbsp butter melted

Instructions
Heat oven to 400 degrees
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut butter into mixture. Using a fork stir in combined egg and milk.
Spread batter into pan. Arrange fruit on top. Drizzle 3 tbsp butter on top and sprinkle w/ cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar. Bake for 30 minutes. Check for doneness.
Combine jelly and water. Heat to mix thoroughly. Drizzle over top when cake has cooled slightly.
