     Pretty-in-Pink Mother's Day Cake

1 box white cake mix (plus additional ingredients as directed on pkg.)
1 (4 serving size) box strawberry-flavored gelatin
16 oz. tub vanilla frosting
12 to 14 pink sugar wafer cookies, crushed

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans. Prepare cake mix as directed for a 9-inch two-layer cake, adding the strawberry gelatin to the batter and beating until well blended. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake as directed.
Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely. Once cool, fill and frost cakes with vanilla frosting. If you like, spoon some of the frosting into a piping bag with a fluted tip and pipe a ridge of white icing around the edge of the cake.
Gently press the crushed cookies into the sides of cake.
