Cream together the butter, oil and sugars; add egg and beat well. Sift together the dry ingredients and add to first mixture, add vanilla and mix well. Chill dough. Poll into balls the size of walnut. Place about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. use a glass coated with butter, dipped in sugar and press each cookie slightly. Bake at 375 degrees 7 minutes or until brown.
