Aunt Em's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
-
1/4 cup butter
-
1/2 cup sugar
-
1 egg yolk, beaten
-
1 tsp cream or milk
-
1/4 tsp. vanilla
-
1 cup flour
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1/2 tsp baking powder
 

Instructions
Mix butter and sugar in bowl. Add cream, egg and vanilla. Add flour, salt and baking powder. Mix well.
Use teaspoon to drop balls of batter on a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10 to 15 minutes or until brown.
This is Moms first recipe. It was given to her in 4th grade by Nancy Hibbard, Emma was her mother, the Pastors Wife at Braceville Methodist Church. Mom's Dad was the custodian at the church and rang the church bell every Sunday. Grandma taught Sunay School there. Grandma remained friends with them until she died.
