Grate the onion, potato and carrot sticks. Cook the meat on medium high heat. Add veggies and spices to the meat after it is no longer pink. Let the meat simmer on low for atleast 20-30 minutes for veggies to soften and meat to get yummy.
(as it simmers, inevitable some of the juice vaporizes away, so periodically add a Tablespoon or 2 of water to keep moist.)
