     Corn Meal Crescents

Ingredients
2 tsp dry yeast
1/2 C. warm water
1 C. Milk, scalded
1/2 C.butter
1/2 C. sugar
2 tsp salt
4 to 5 C. flour, divided
1 C. corn meal
2 eggs
 

Instructions
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Pour hot milk over butter, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl; cool to lukewarm.
Stir in dissolved yeast. 1 C. flour, 1 C. cornmeal and eggs. Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead on lightly floured surface about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Divide dough in half; roll out each to 12inch circles. Spread with softened butter; cut each into 16 wedges. Roll up each wedge, beginning with wider end. Place, point side down on two large, greased cookie sheets. Brush with butter; cover, let rise until doubled in size. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven 15 to 20 min. or until brown.
