1 stick butter
|

1/2 cup shortening
|
|
4 Tablespoons cocoa
|

1 cup water
|

2 cups flour and 2 cups sugar sifted together

1/2 cup buttermilk
|
|
2 eggs
|

1 teaspoon baking soda
|
|
1 teaspoon vanilla
|
|
1 stick butter
|

4 Tablespoons cocoa
|

6 Tablespoons milk
|
|
1 box confectioners sugar
|
|
1 cup chopped pecans
|
|
1 teaspoon vanilla
|

Instructions |
|
|
Bring butter, shortening, cocoa, and water to a rapid boil. Pour this over flour and sugar already sifted together. Mix well.
|

Add buttermilk, eggs, soda, vanilla. Mix well and pour into greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

|
Icing- Melt together butter and cocoa. Mix in milk, confectioners sugar, pecans, and vanilla. Spread over warm cake.
