     Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients
3/4 c. shortening (Crisco)
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp vanilla
3 c. oatmeal
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp salt
 
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 c. raisins (optional)
Instructions
With a hand mixer, mix shortening, sugars, and egg first. Add rest of ingredient (besides raisins) one at a time. Fold in raisins.
Form dough into balls and placed on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes. Let cool on rack before serving.
