     Brown Sugar Beer Cake

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
4 eggs, separated
3 cups self rising flour
1 1/2 cups stale beer

Beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks and beat well. Thoroughly blend flour into creamed mixture alternately with beer, beginning and ending with flour. Beat egg whites until stuff, but not dry. Gently fold into mixture. Pour into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool slightly before removing from pan.
