15 oz can pinto beans or 1/2 cup dry beans, cooked
1/2 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
8 oz can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
Slices of whole wheat bread
1 tablespoon oil
Instructions
Saute the onion and pepper in oil until the onions are translucent. Add everything else, except the bread. Simmer until the sauce has thickened up a bit. Serve over bread (the wheat bread will soak up the sauce without getting mushy better than white bread).
