Brown sausage and cut each link in half. Drain thouroughly. Butter a 1 1/2 qt. casserole dish.
Combine apples and sausage and put in casserole. Sptinkle with salt and pepper, lemon juice, brown sugar. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
