1 box Oatmeal Quaker Squares Cereal (bluebox)
|

2 c. pecan halves
|
| |
1/2 packed brown sugar
|
| |
1/2 stick butter (unsalted)
|
| |
1/2 c. light corn syrup
|
| |
1 tsp. vanilla
|
| |
1/2 tsp. baking soda
|

Instructions |

|
Preheat oven to 250 mix cereal and nuts in 9X13 baking dish. Set aside. Mix brown sugar, butter and corn syrup in bowl.

Put in microwave for 1 1/2 minutes, stir midway through. Stir again, then microwave for another minute or until it boils.

|
|
Add vanilla and baking soda-will foam up. Stir. Add to cereal and nuts. Stir Well.

|
|
|
Put in oven, stir every 20 minutes for 1 hour. Take out of pan, spread on large baking sheet to cool. Break apart as it cools.
