Rub ribs on both sides with salt and pepper. Place meaty side up on foil lined pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes.

Combine other ingredients to make sauce.
|

|
When ribs come out of oven after the 1st 45 minute baking time--drain off excess fat (be careful!). Cover ribs with 3/4's of sauce (reserve rest for dipping). Lower temp to 325 degrees and bake for 1 hour and 45 minutes more. Basting occasionally.

Heat the remaining sauce and cool before serving as dipping sauce.
