Cream butter in a laqrge mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Sift in flour and cornstarch; mix well. Add flavorings, blending well. CHILL 1 HOUR.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place 3 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Flatten each with bottom of a small glass dipped in water. Bake at 350 for 10 min. DO NOT BROWN. Carefully remove to a wire rack.
Mix last 4 ingredients for a glaze. Spread glaze evenly over each cookie while warm. Cool and store.
