     CASHEW-CRUNCH COOKIES

Ingredients
2 1/4 c. plain flour
1/2 t. soda
1/2 t. cream of tartar
3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. margarine, softened
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
1 1/2 c. finely chopped cashews
 
1 c, brown sugar, firmly packed
2 T. half and half
1 T. margarine
1 2/3 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 t. maple flavoring

Instructions
In a large mixing bowl combine first eight ingredients. Blend well. Stir in cashews; mix thoroughly. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Cool and frost.
Combine brown sugar with half and half in saucepan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until it comes to a boil; boil for 6 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in butter. Add powdered sugar and beat at medium speed until smooth. Add more powdered sugar if needed for spreading.
