Mix jello with 2 cups hot water for 2 minutes. Add thawed strawberries. If using fresh strawberries, cut in half, and add 1 cup cold water to jello. Let this JUST START to set up.
Fold in cool whip. (You can save a little cool whip to spread on top.)
