     Mountain (Sausage Bean) Chowder

Servings   3 quarts

Ingredients
1 lb. hot sausage
1 lb. vege sausage
4 c. water
2 - 1 lb. cans kidney beans, undrained
2 - 1 lb. cans whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped
2 med. onions, chopped
3 med. potatoes, cubed
1/2 c. chopped green peppers
1 large bay leaf
 
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 tsp. each garlic powder, salt, pepper

Instructions
Brown sausage in dutch oven and stir to crumble. Drain well in colendar on paper towels.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Boil. Cover and reduce heat. Simmer at least one hour. Remove bay leaf before serving.
