     Peppermint Candy Spritz

1 c butter, softened
2/3 c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp peppermint extract
4 to 5 drops green food color, if desired
2 1/4 c all-purpose flour
1 c powdered sugar
1 to 2 Tbl milk
1/4 c coarsely crushed mint candies

Heat over to 400 degrees. Combine all cookie ingredients except flour in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Reduce speed to low; add flour. Beat, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. If dough is too soft to form cookies, cover; refrigerate until firm (about 1 hour).
Place dough in cookie press; form desired shapes 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool completely.
Combine powdered sugar and enough milk for desired drizzling consistency in small bowl; mix well. Drizzle over cooled cookies; sprinkle with crushed mint candies.
