Preheat oven to 375 F. Rack in middle position. Melt butter. Add sugars and stir. Add soda, salt, vanilla and eggs. Mix well. Add flour and stir it in. Add corn flakes and chocolate chips and mix thoroughly.
Form dough into walnut size balls and place on a greased cookie sheet. Press down with fork in criss-cross pattern. Bake at 375 F for 10 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes then transfer to a wire rack until cool (makes crispy cookies).
