     Turkey Chili with Cornbread Topping

Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey
1 diced onion
1 clove garlic
1T chili powder
salt and pepper
1 large can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato paste PLUS 1/4 cup water
1 large can red kidney beans
1 large can chili beans
 
1 large can navy beans
2 1/4 cups cornmeal
2T whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 egg plus one yolk, beaten
1 1/4 cups milk

Instructions
TO PREPARE CHILI- Fry the onion in a bit of oil in a frying pan. When it is cooked, add the meat and cook it through. Throw that and all of the other ingredients in the slow cooker. Cook for 3 hours on medium-high.
TO PREPARE CORNMEAL TOPPING- Combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder and pinch of salt in bowl. Make a well in the center and add egg, egg yolk and milk. Mix and spoon over the chilli and cook for one more hour or until the topping is firm and cooked.
