fill a pot with water or chicken broth, add chicken and boil until 3/4 of the way cooked (20-30 mins depending on how big the chicken is)cut onion in half and add to the pot. Only using flavor of the onion in the chicken..then can save chicken broth if only using water.
preheat oven to 350 degrees
place chicken on a bakers wire rack over a roasting pan or baking sheet and brush on bbq sauce, cook in oven until chicken is done completely, should spring back to the touch..also brush sauce on liberally every 10 mins or so on how much you want on the chicken as coating

all depends on how big the chicken breasts are, can use leftover as shredded bbq chicken sandwiches on kaiser rolls on another night in the week.
