If using fresh sweet potatoes, wash & cut into 4-6 pieces. Boil in water until tender but not mushy. Drain. Slip off skins.
Small kettle combine brown sugar, butter, cream and salt; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly. Put potatoes into an oven dish and pour mixture over the top and mix gently.
Bake at 325 for 30 minutes. Top with marshmellows and bake until marshmellows are lightly browned.
