     Cornbread Dressing

1 chopped onion
1/2 c margarine
1 pan cornbread cooled and crumbled
6 c soft bread crubs
3 c celery slices
2-2 1/2 c chicken broth
2 eggs beaten
4 tsp poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
3 c fresh mushrooms sliced

Saute onions and margarine add to combined remaine ingredients. Toss lightly mixing well. Place in a 3qt. cassrole dish and cover. Bake at 325 about 1 hour or lightly stiff. Then stuff dressing into body cavity and neck. 16-18 Ib turkey.
Variations-subsitute 2 cups coarsley chopped apples and 1 cup of raisins for mushrooms.
Note- when baking ddressing in cassrole dish use 2 1/2 cups of broth, when baking in turkey use 2 cups.
