     Slow Cooker Loaded Bratwurst Stew

Ingredients
4 c. coarsely chopped green cabbage
1 lb. smoked bratwurst, cut in 1/2 inch pieces (may sub. Italian sausage)
1 1/2 c. coarsely chopped red potatoes
1/4 c. chopped red pepper
1 medium onion, cut into thin wedges
2-14 oz. cans chicken broth
1 Tbsp. spicy brown mustard
1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
1/4 tsp. salt
 
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1/8 tsp. celery seed
shredded swiss cheese

Instructions
In a 5-6 quart slow cooker, combine cabbage, sausage, potatoes, sweet pepper, and onion. In a large bowl, whisk together broth, mustard, vinegar, salt, black pepper, and celery seeds. Pour over all in cooker.
Cover and cook on low heat setting for 6-7 hours, or on high heat setting for 3-3 1/2 hours. If desired, top each serving with swiss cheese.
