     Osso Bucco Home Style

Ingredients
5 veal shanks
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup carros, choppedt
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 cup dry white wine (optional)
1 tsp. stock mix (beef or chicken)
1 or 2 - 28 ounce can tomatoes with juice
salt and pepper
 
flour
vegetable oil
2 parsley stalks
1 bay leaf

Instructions
Salt and pepper meat and coat (dredge) in flour. Heat oil and fry until golden brown. Remove meat.
Saute onions, carrot, celery and garlic with scrapings from pan until brown; approximately 5 minutes. Add wine if desired. Add stock mix, parsley, bay leaf and tomatos and enough juice to cover meat.
Cook in oven at 450 degrees for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
