Roman Apple Cake

Ingredients
-
1-1/2 c flour
-
1/2 c brown sugar
-
1/2 c white sugar
-
1/2 c butter
-
1/2 t cinnamon
-
pinch salt
-
1 t soda
-
1/2 c sour milk
 
-
1 egg
-
1 large or 2 small apples

Instructions
Combine first 6 ingredients with a fork until crumbly. Divide mixture into 2 parts. To one part add the soda, sour milk and egg. Pour half of this mixture into deep, greased 9 inch pie plate.
Peel, core and slice thinly 1 large or 2 small apples. Scatter over the batter, and cover with remaining batter.
Top with remaining crumb mixture. Dot top with butter and cinnamon. Bake at 325 for 1 hr.
Serving Suggestions
Delicious for breakfast or with tea or coffee.
