Grandma Newton's Never Fail Pie Crust

Category   Desserts - Breads
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 cup shortening (Crisco)
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 Tbs. Vinegar
5 Tbs. Ice water

Instructions
In a large bowl mix the flour, shortening, and salt together with a pastry blender until the mixture is crumbly (do not over mix). In a separate small bowl, beat the egg, vinegar and the ice water. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture, and add the liquid in the center, slowly incorporate the dry ingredients with a fork. After the ingredients are mixed, use your hands to mix the dough, until the dough is smooth. Do not handle dough to much, or the dough will be tough. Wrap dough with plastic and let it chill while you are making the filling
If making a pudding pie or other pie where you bake the crust on its own, spear curst with fork everywhere to make sure it doesn't bubble. Bake at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes.
Note- This is the recipe I got from JoAnn VanderMeulen, so you know it's really good. -)
