     Zuppa Toscanna soup

Ingredients
1 lb ground Italian sausage, browned
2 1/2 lg potatoes (sliced 1/4 inch thick)
1 lg white onion, chopped
1/2 cup soft bacon bit pieces (comes in bag)
3 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups kale or chard, chopped in large bite-sized pieces
2 cans chicken broth
little less than 1 qt water
1 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
 
pinch of red chili peppers

Instructions
Cook sausage in separate pan. In a large pot combine water, broth, garlic, onion, and potatoes until potatoes are cooked.
Add sausage and bacon to large pot, stir well. Add kale, pinch of red chili peppers and whipping cream. Heat through and serve.
